김환기의 블루, 희망의 블루
2021년 희망찬 새해를 기원하며 변화에도 두려워하지 않고 새로운 예술을 향해 끝없이 도전했던 우리나라 추상미술의 선구자 김환기의 작품세계를 미디어를 통해 선보인다.
김환기는 우리나라 추상미술의 선구자로 한국의 서정주의를 바탕으로 독보적인 예술세계를 정립하였다. 열정과 도전정신으로 프랑스와 미국에서 활동하며 한국미술의 국제화를 이끌어 한국 미술사를 빛낸 인물로 기록되고 있다.
김환기의 대표 작품 중 2019년 11월 한국 미술품 경매 사상 최고가 낙찰로 널리 알려진 <UNIVERSE_05-Ⅳ-71 #200> 작품이 전하는 투명하고 깊은 푸른 색감이 만들어내는 숭고한 공간, 완벽한 하나의 우주가 6×6×6m의 미디어 큐브를 통해 우리 눈앞에서 무한히 펼쳐지는 예술공간을 구현해 냈다. 작가가 평생에 걸쳐 끊임없이 집중하고 사용했던 푸른 빛의 다채로운 스펙트럼과 무한한 깊이를 느껴보길 바라며 희망을 불어넣는 푸른빛으로 2021년을 맞이하고자 기획되었다.

Wishing a hopeful New Year in 2021, we present the world of art by KIM Whanki through media project, a pioneer of Korean abstract art, who has never been afraid of change and has endlessly challenged for new art.
KIM Whanki, a pioneer of Korean abstract art, has established a unique art world based on Korean lyricism. With passion and spirit of challenge, he had been active in France and the United States, leading the internationalization of Korean art and being recorded as a person who brightened the Korean art.
Among KIM Whanki’s representative works, <UNIVERSE_05-Ⅳ-71 #200> widely known as the highest bid for a Korean art auctions in November 2019, creates a sublime space created by the transparent and deep blue color. The universe has created an art space that unfolds infinitely in front of our eyes through 6×6×6m media cube. We hope you will experience the colorful spectrum and infinite depth of blue that the author has constantly focused and used throughout his life, and welcome 2021 with a blue light that inspires hope.
