미술관 외벽과 1·2층 전관에서 진행되는 이번 전시는 현대미술의 역동성을 입체적으로 경험할 수 있도록 구성된다. 선(線)에 대한 깊은 사유와 새로운 시선을 선보여온 남춘모 작가와 펠리체 바리니 작가의 최신 작품들을 선보이는 자리다. 남춘모는 동양적 사유와 이미지를 바탕으로 전통과 현대의 개념이 결합된 작품들을 선보이고 있으며, 회화에서부터 조형에 이르기까지  ‘선(線)’을 모티브로한 부조회화라는 독특한 영역을 개척해 오고 있다. 펠리체 바리니는 스위스 출신 프랑스 작가로 3차원적 입체 공간에 또 하나의 2차원적인 면을 결합하여 입체적인 작업을 선보인다. 두 작가의 공통점은 회화의 가장 단순한 선을 변용하여 지극히 일상적인 것을 낯설게 만드는 데 있다. 일상적인 것들의 ‘다시 보기’를 통해 새로운 세상과의 만남을 꿈꾸고 있는 것이다. 이번 기획전을 통해 획일적이고 틀에 박힌 일상이 아닌 낯설고 새로운 차원의 일상과 마주치게 될 것이다.

This exhibition, which is being held on the outer walls of the museum and on the first and second floors, is designed to provide a three-dimensional experience of the dynamism of contemporary art. It is a place to showcase the latest artworks by two artists, Nam Tchun-mo and Felice VarINI, who have expressed the profound thoughts and new perspectives about lines. Nam Tchun-mo’s works are based in the asian thoughts and images, combining the concepts of tradition and modernity. Nam is pioneering the unique field of relief-paintings, using lines as motif in artworks ranging from paintings to sculptures. 

Felice VarINI is a French artist, born in Switzerland. By combining two-dimensional space to three-dimensional space, Varini express three-dimensional works. The two artists are alike in the sense that they use lines, the simplest form of a painting, to bring out the unfamiliarity of very ordinary things. They are dreaming to meet a new world by ‘looking back’ at the ordinary. Through this exhibition, we will be able to break out of the ordinary and monolithic days, and face a new and different dimension of our daily routines.
