송은아트스페이스는 3월, ‘What is not visible is not invisible : Selection from the 23 French Regional Collections of Contemporary Art (FRAC), 프랑스 지역자치단체 현대미술 컬렉션’이라는 제목으로 1982년 프랑스 정부에 의해 설립된 지역자치단체 현대미술 컬렉션 운용기관인 FRAC(Fonds Régionaux d’Art Contemporain)에 소장된 작품 중 일부를 선별하여 프랑스 및 해외 작가 28인(팀)의 그룹전을 국내 처음으로 개최한다. 본 전시는 23개 FRAC의 협력으로 현대미술 지역네트워크 연합인 Platform에 의해 계획되었으며, 서울과 방콕으로 이어지는 아시아 순회전으로 싱가포르 국립박물관과 공동기획으로 싱가포르에서 첫선을 보인 바 있다. 

이번 전시는 FRAC과 송은아트스페이스 두 기관의 협의로 진행되며, FRAC 루아르 지역 디렉터 로랑스 가또와 Platform 사무총장 안 끌레르 뒤프라가 협력 큐레이터로 참여한다. 본 전시를 통해 FRAC의 활동과 소장품을 선보임으로써 현대미술 창작지원 및 후원을 위한 정부기관의 역할을 조명하고자 한다.

In Spring 2017, SongEun ArtSpace presents ‘What is not visible is not invisible : Selection from the 23 French Regional Collections of Contemporary Art (FRAC)’. FRACs are French Regional Collections of Contemporary Art created in 1982 as part of the policy of devolution of power set by the government via regional councils in order for art to be present in each and every one of France’s twenty three regions. Showing for the first time in Korea, this exhibition has been con

ceived by Platform, the umbrella organization for FRAC and curated by Laurence GATEAU (Director of FRAC des Pays de la Loire) and AnneClaire DUPRAT (General Secretary of Platform). Thirty works by twenty eight French and international artists from the FRACs collections is a small selection of the overall collection but it should still be a good insight on the role of government agencies in supporting the contemporary art based on the activities and collections of FRACs.
