dR is pleased to announce an upcoming show featuring the two artists, Yoo Li and Jeongsun Yoon. dR: 윤작가님의 그림에는 건축물이 많이 등장하는데요, 특별히 그림의 소재로 건물을 선택하신 이유에 대해 듣고 싶습니다.

Many of your works depict architecture as subjects. Are there any specific reasons for this?

YJS: 사람은 유동적으로 옮겨 다니지만 사람이 지나온 장소는 오랫동안 그 자리를 지키며 기억을 상기 시키더라고요. 건물이나 장소를 그리지만 제 그림의 주인공은 사람이고 간접화법으로 건물을 그리고 있어요.

저는 신자는 아니지만 유신론자예요. 절대적인 누군가가 인간을 창조했고 인간이 자연의 일부임을 믿습니다. 신이 인간의 모습을 창조한 것처럼 건축은 인간이 신의 행위를 모방해서 만든 것이라고 생각합니다.

People move around from places to places, but the buildings or places but my main subject of interest is in human-the buildings are indirect tools of sharing conversation with the people.

I am not religious but I do believe in the supreme being who created human as part of nature. Architecture is the creation of people, the same way how human is the creation of god.
