사진미술공유공간 Space22는 정창기 사진가의 <식물의 스카이라인>전을 2024.5.8 일부터 5.29 일까지 개최합니다.
30년 넘게 꽃과 일상의 사물을 찍는 순수 사진가로 활동해온 정창기 작가의 <식물의 스카이라인>은 작가의 시선에 포착된 자연에 대한 겸허한 발언입니다. 그는 이번 작업을 통해 “작업실 테이블 위에 그리던 정물화에서 벗어나게 되었고 이것은 또 다른 여행”이라고 고백합니다. 이번 전시는 젤라틴 실버 프린트와 빈티지 프린트를 포함해 50여점의 작품을 선보입니다.

하늘은 자연을 겸손하게 반사하고 초대하는 거울과 같습니다.
그것은 특별한 광채를 비추며 아름다움의 본질, 검소함 뿐만 아니라 미적 강점도 드러냅니다.
자연은 포즈를 취하지 않습니다. 그것은 거의 이해하기 어려운 일시적이고 고요하며 궁극적인 우아함을 가지고 있습니다.
내 눈은 피사체를 자르고 프레임을 만듭니다. 나는 감정, 부드러움 따뜻함, 달콤함, 풍미 등 자연이 공유하는 모든 것을 느낍니다. 나는 또한 그 비밀을 느낄 수 있습니다.
식물의 그림자는 수수께끼 같은 실루엣처럼 하늘을 향해 솟아오르며 완전하고 명확한 획을 그려 조용한 메시지를 구성합니다.
나는 눈을 감고 풀밭에 누워 하늘, 구름, 지평선에 윤곽을 드러낸 풀과 대화를 나누던 어린 시절의 소박한 행복을 기쁨으로 재발견합니다.
내 렌즈는 구름을 포착하고, 갑자기 아름답게 피어나 나를 놀라게 하는 이 하늘의 꽃.. . 때로 그 구름들이 잠시 움직이지 않고 내 바로 앞에 떠 있는 것처럼 보일 때 나는 그것들을 끌어안고 싶어 집니다. 그러나 바람이 불면 그들은 변형되거나 사라집니다.
하늘 끝에 나무나 풀의 레이스무늬 가 나타날 때까지 고개를 들거나 앞으로 몸을 기울입니다. 더 이상 꾸미기는 필요 없고, 단지 존재하는 것을 연극화 할 뿐입니다. 나는 하늘과 땅 사이, 달이 태양을 쫓는 낮과 밤사이, 계절이 겹치고 노는 곳 사이에서 이러한 식물 탐험을 앨범으로 구성하고 있습니다.
광란과 풍요의 봄은 오랫동안 내가 가장 좋아하는 계절이었습니다. 나는 어린, 새싹, 부드러운 잎의 에너지를 사진에 담았었습니다.
오늘, 나를 불안하게 하고 도전하게 만드는 것은 겨울이 오기 전 식물의 마지막 움직임입니다. 나를 매료시키는 것은 이 식물들이 분해되기전의 무조건적인 우아함과 섬세한 취약성입니다. 내 사진은 현대 식물표본관처럼 이 찰나의 섬세하고 진정한 순간을 겸손하게 증언합니다.
이번 '식물성 스카이라인' 시리즈를 통해 나는 작업실 테이블 위에 그리던 정물화에서 벗어나게 되었습니다.
그것은 또 다른 여행이고, 더욱 친밀하며, 무한하고 광활한 하늘 속을 걷는 여행입니다.
식물의 무상함은 우리 삶의 스카이라인과 같습니다. 그 구름은 또한 일시적인 존재를 강조합니다.

ENGLISH PREFACE - VEGETAL SKYLINE

The sky is like a mirror that reflects and invites nature in all its modesty.
It gives it a particular brilliance, revealing the essence of its beauty, its simplicity but also its aesthetic strength.
Nature does not pose. It has an ephemeral, tranquil and quintessential elegance that is almost elusive.
My eyes crop and frame. I feel everything that nature has to share: emotion, tenderness, warmth, sweetness, flavor. I can also sense its secrets.
Plant shadows rise towards the sky like enigmatic silhouettes drawing calligraphic strokes to compose some silent message.
I close my eyes and rediscover with delight the simple happiness of childhood where lying in the grass I conversed with the sky, the clouds and the plants that were silhouetted against the horizon.
My lens picks the clouds as one would flowers ; clouds are for me like the flowers of the sky.
Their sudden and delightful blossoming surprises me... I would like to hold them because they sometimes seem to float in front of me for a moment. But in a breath of wind, they transform or disappear.
I raise my head or lean forward until a lacework of trees or plants appears at the edge of the sky.
No more staging, just the theatricalization of what exists. I am composing an album of these plant explorations between sky and earth, between day and night where the moon chases the sun and where the seasons overlap and frolic.
Spring in its frenzy and abundance has long been my favorite season. I captured on film the energy of young shoots, buds and tender leaves.
Today, it’s the last stirrings of the plants before winter that puzzle and challenge me. It’s the unconditional grace and delicate fragility of these plants before they disintegrate that fascinates me.
My photographs, like a contemporary herbarium, modestly bear witness to these fleeting, delicate and authentic moments.
With this series, “Vegetal skyline”, I moved away from the still lifes that I composed on the table in my studio. This is another journey, a more intimate one, a walk in the infinite immensity of the sky.
The impermanence of plants is like the skyline of our lives, whose clouds punctuate our ephemeral existence.
