The world is made of fundamental elements. The bases of these elements are an assortment of ultra-fine cells and atoms, which are in essence dots. Even our grand universe can be deconstructed to the organic base of these same elements and dots.
The ‘Off’ series uses the reversion to the organic nature of dots as its premise.
The ‘Off’ series begins with a portrayal of detachment. If ‘On’ is paint on a canvas, this series is ‘Off’ in the sense that there is no supporting media for the paint to attach to.
The ‘Off’ series departs from traditional forms of art that place pigments on canvas. Rather, it transcends the conventional by using the pigments independently of a support to give the illusion of floating in space. The ‘Off’ series intends to inspire its audience to rediscover the properties of color and create a new formative interest in aesthetics.
The ‘Off’ series encourages us to take a second look at the nature of the environment that surrounds us, from dots to lines, to surfaces and three dimensional structures, and space.
